An umbrella unit consisting of intellectual and equipment resources,
Computer Aided Design Laboratory (CADLab) is responsible for the management and administration of all technology resources within the Faculty. CADLab employs computational tools in design/planning teaching and research. The unit is actively engaged in a range of activities that explore new applications of information technology in design and planning education and practice. Projects range from design work and simulation exercises to new forms of curriculum delivery. Networking, server systems, global communication systems and interactive multi-media are all critical areas of CADLab research activity.
CADLab supports a number of specialized digital studios that range from communications oriented virtual studios to GIS based regional studios to video based compositing and manipulation. CADLab is also engaged in a number of services and research projects including work in the applicability of visualization, communications and Virtual Reality technologies.
