ICE DOME
FRONT LAWN OF JOHN A RUSSELL BUILDING
Professor Lancelot Coar (University of Manitoba) and Michael Cox (Princeton University) are working with a team of U of M student volunteers to build a fabric formed ice shell in front of the JA Russell Building and CAST. This shell will be formed by a fibreglass rebar framed skeleton whose geometry has been determined by mapping the force flow through the dome. Once the fabric and ice have hardened, the team will attempt to remove the fibreglass frame, leaving a free-standing fabric and ice shell
