The Farm and Food Discovery Centre welcomes all families to discover the importance of agriculture and explore where food comes from. The centre features interactive displays and windows into a live pig barn to provide visitors with a thorough background on Manitoba's agricultural production practices. Guests are invited to conduct self-guided tours of the facilites, and large groups (10+) will be provided with a guided tour free of charge (please book ahead to ensure availability of guide).
The centre has been designed to promote increased awareness of how and where food is produced, the stewardship that farmers show for their land and animals, the economic importance of agriculture in Manitoba, the value of food processing, and the role consumers play in the health and safety of food. Displays and interactive features have universal appeal to learners of all ages, making the Farm and Food Discovery Centre a wonderful place to enjoy a day in the country with your family.
