Inservice Day activities - Looking for activities for inservice days during the 2017-2018 school year? FFDC is hosting 4 Inservice Day events this upcoming school year!

  • Friday, November 17 - Dairy Day
  • Friday, February 2 -  Ice Cream Party
  • Friday, March 16  - Dairy Day
  • Friday, April 20 -  Ice Cream Party

      Dairy Day - Explore the dairy barn and learn about how we get milk to make cheese and yogurt. Finish by helping to make some fresh ice cream!
      Ice Cream Party - Come join us at the Discovery Centre and make some homemade ice cream.
     Cost: $5.00 per person over 5 years old, $3.50 3-4 year olds, under 3 free.
     Inservice Day events run from 10:00-2:00 on a drop in basis. Registration not required.

Applied Skills in Food Preparation workshop series - The goal of this series is to help students in Food and Human Nutritional Sciences apply the knowledge they learn in their classes to everyday food practices in their own lives and in their future professional work. Through a series of hands-on workshops, participants will learn practical kitchen and food skills that will help them use their nutrition and food knowledge for healthy, everyday food preparation. These workshops aimed at students but are open to anyone interested.

  • Monday, February 26 - Healthy Snacks with Getty Stewart, PHEc
  • Monday, March 5 - Goodbye Ramen, Hello DIY Grain Bowls with Getty Stewart, PHEc
  • Saturday, March 17 - Food Handlers Certificate course with FoodSafe Manitoba
  • Tuesday, March 29 - The Real Dirt on Farming - Food Facts and Myths with Kristen Matwychuk

Farmand Food Discovery Centre
