Research

Research interests

Dr. Cardwell's research interests include the economics of food and agricultural policies, international trade regulation, and foreign aid. He focuses on how vested interests can shape the policy-making process and generate unintended consequences and distributional effects. Current and recent projects include international food aid policies, understanding support for government policies, international trade disputes, and Canadian agricultural policies.

Dr. Cardwell is the managing editor of the Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics.
