The Baffin Island wind storm of January 7-8, 2014
What happened?
On January 7 and 8, 2014, a major low pressure system approached southern Baffin Island from the south. It brought severe winds to parts of the island, including a wind gust to 141 km/h at Iqaluit. Numerous occurrences of damage were noted. Meteorological information from this event is presented here.
