RADAR detecting stubble burning

RADAR detecting stubble burning

What happened

On November 18, 2009, there were clear skies over southern Manitoba. Despite this, persistent RADAR echoes occurred in many areas west of Winnipeg that resembled some sort of plume. The source of these areas of echoes was the fact that stubble burning was no longer banned for the season in southern Manitoba.
