The Conference

This biennial CSME Congress, the flagship conference of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The purpose of the congress is to facilitate networking, disseminate research results and new technologies among universities, industry, government agencies, and R&D laboratories. The paper submission deadline has been extended to February 29, 2012.

  • The annual CSME Undergraduate Student Design Competition will be held at the conference.

    Languages

    The official languages of the CSME Congress 2012 are English and French. Simultaneous translation services will not be available. Papers may be written or presented in English or French.


    Paper Submission

    Original papers in English or French are sought on all topics in Mechanical Engineering concerns. Papers submitted for presentation at the conference will be refereed and selected based on a full paper. Please submit your paper in the pdf format to the appropriate Track for consideration. The accepted papers will be scheduled for presentation and will appear in the Proceedings of the 2012 CSME CONGRESS. Please see Important Dates for the deadlines for submission, notification of acceptance, and registration.

  • Regular Paper Submission Deadline (8 Pages): February 29, 2012
  • Proposals for Invited Sessions: January 15, 2012
  • Notification of Acceptance: March 31, 2012
  • Final Camera-Ready Papers Due: April 7, 2012

    Special workshop “How to Prepare a Winning NSERC Discovery Grant (DG) Application”.
    This workshop is intended for Faculty members. The NSERC DG Program officer and both Chairs from the Solid Section and the Fluid Section will attend the workshop to share insights into the evaluation process.


    Conference Venue

    The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, is delighted to host the Congress. The conference site is Engineering Information and Technology Complex. Special arrangement has been made for conference attendants to stay on-campus or at the hotel at a special rate if registered before the cut-off date as posted at the conference website.
