Message from the Dean

The Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba is not satisfied with the education status quo. As a result, we are committed to the improvement of education for all students through our work with educators at all levels and through our research. We are proud of this work and what we have accomplished so far, but we understand that our work creates new beginnings and uncovers new ways of knowing that challenge us daily to improve education in Canada and around the world.

We constantly seek out new opportunities to understand how students learn and how to use this new understanding to support them. This task is not an easy one, especially with the changes in technology, in the economy, in the demography of Canada, and in globalization. We believe that tomorrow’s challenges are opportunities to improve the lives of people today, and we meet these challenges by providing unique programs to our students and through our faculty members’ international work and the work of our graduates.
