Working Conference Series on Research in Teacher Education in Canada

The Third Working Conference on Research in Teacher Education in Canada took place 5-7 November 2009 at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg with 41 teacher education scholars in attendance. The topic of the 2009 Working Conference was:

Field Experiences in the Context of Reform of Canadian
Teacher Education Programs

We would like to acknowledge and express our appreciation for the generous financial support of the conference by the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE), the University of Manitoba Conference Sponsorship Program, and the the Faculty of Edcuation of the University of Manitoba (FoE).

Starting with with the 2009 Working Conference, the conferences are integrated into a three-phase book publishing project on the respective topic. Details of the process involved in the 2009 book publishing project can be gleaned from the Call for Participation, which can be viewed here (pdf-file).

The book publication project 2009 resulted in the following book, the two volumes of which (formatted for double-sided printing with a 1-cm gutter) can be downloaded by clicking on the respective links below:

We like to acknowledge our colleagues who were involved in this working and publication project, whose ideas about and understanding of issues around field experiences are reflected in the chapters of the book, and who came to Winnipeg from across the country to engage with their colleagues’ ideas about field experiences in face-to-face working sessions.
