English Language Studies at the University of Manitoba offers a variety of programs for English language learners and teachers. 

Learn English
The Intensive English Program is for ESL students from beginner to advanced levels interested in studying English at the University of Manitoba while discovering the exciting places and meeting the friendly people of the province of Manitoba.      

English plus
The Language and Business Program is for students who want to combine English Language learning with Business and Management courses.  
The Intensive English Program for EFL Teachers is for teachers around the world interested in improving their English language skills and building professional competence in current methodological trends and practices in English Language Teaching. 

Teach English
The Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (CTESL) Program is for individuals seeking training in English Language teaching. 

Learn a Language
Conversational language courses are for anyone interested in learning a foreign language or building on the knowledge of a previously learned one. 

Prepare for the future
The Academic Test Preparation Programs (TOEFL iBT, IELTS, TOEIC) are for students wanting to improve their test-taking skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Explore Manitoba
The Explore Program brings French speaking students from Quebec to the University of Manitoba for five weeks in the spring and summer for an English immersion experience. 

Build Community
The Adult English as an Additional Language (EAL) program gives immigrants and refugees the English language skills needed to live and work in Manitoba.

There were a number of high quality submissions in the Intensive English Program 300/350 level Spring Writing Contest 2010.
Hong Kai Pan (Frank) had two options when he was coming to the Intensive English language program: he could stay in residence or he could homestay with a Canadian family.
