U of M - Computing - Systems Renewal - Aurora - Set Up My Security Access For Aurora Student

Set Up My Security Access For Aurora Student

The type of security access you need for Aurora Student depends on the functions you will require:

  • For U of M professors/instructors, many of the functions that you require for your courses - including class lists, class syllabus and office hours - are available in Aurora Student Self Service.

For further information, go to Faculty Services in Aurora Self Service. There should be an account already set up for you - see Logging In.

  • If you need to use Aurora Student for functions not available in Self Service, OR
  • If you need to use Aurora Student in a faculty or admin support capacity,

you will require access to Aurora INB (Internet Native Banner). To obtain this access, you must perform the following steps:
  1. Arrange for Aurora Student training. Aurora Student training can be provided by a co-worker in the Faculty/Department who is knowledgeable of Aurora Student. If some basic Aurora Student training is needed tutorial services are available. For scheduling or more information, please contact Kevin Slippert in the Registrar's Office at slippert@cc.umanitoba.ca.

  2. Complete the IST ClaimID online form, specifying that you need access to Aurora.

Note: Your User ID and password are the same for both Aurora Student and Finance.

  3. Complete the Aurora Student User Access Request Form, which comprises the following steps:
  • Print the form.
  • Manually complete and sign the form.
  • Obtain approval from your Dean, Director or Department Head.
  • Forward (mail or fax) the form to the address shown at the bottom.

Within 5 working days, you should receive an email containing the information you will need to log into Aurora INB (Production).

Note: You can do steps 2 and 3 before you complete all required training session(s).
