Online Grading (Crowdmark) - FAQs
  1. How do I get started with Crowdmark?

    Create an IT ticket in the Service Catalogue. In order to use Crowdmark, you must complete an onboarding consultation and have permission from your faculty to use the software. After you have submitted your ticket, IST will contact you to begin the onboarding process.

  2. How do I notify students that I will be using Crowdmark for grading?

    • Include FIPPA Statement of Purpose – Crowdmark in your Syllabus.
    • Place a news item in your UM Learn course advising students of any Crowdmark test assessments.
    • Bring up the Crowdmark course assessment at your next class to ensure your students are aware that the exams will be processed using this online marking tool.
  3. Who can I contact when there is a problem?

    If your issue is about how to use the system and your faculty has a peer group, contact your peer group. If your issue is technical in nature or you do not have a peer group, please contact the IST Service Desk at 204-474-8600.

  4. How can I print exams?

    You may choose to print and distribute exams yourself or follow your normal printing process. Please refer to these steps for printing using an external print vendor.

  5. How can I scan exams?

    You may choose to scan and upload the exams yourself or for a large class or you can use IST Client Services to scan your exam, please follow these instructions here.
