Computer equipped classrooms

Your INS (Novell Instructional System) account  can be used to login to a variety open-area computers accross campus, including most workstations in any of the classrooms or lecture theatres on campus.

Laptop Connectivity

When connecting with a laptop to the Internet and University of Manitoba Network, there are two possible network connection types

  • Network Login Port
    Laptop users can connect and access the campus network from specially designated ports in ACN Open Areas via Network Login. In order to use those ports, please click here for instructions on how to connect using a Netport Connection.    
     
  • Staff Login Port
    This method is available only to instructional faculty and staff. It requires that your laptop's MAC address is registered for use in the classroom. To do this, simply fill out the form below, and submit your request.

Note: To register for DHCP connectivity in your office, please contact your building or department LAN administrator.

Bannatyne Campus



At the Bannatyne campus, DHCP for classroom use requires a laptop with an ethernet card and a CAT5 cable (blue cable with an RJ-45 connector). At Bannatyne, no MAC address registration is required.
