Areas of Responsibility
The primary responsibility of the Director's office is the management of computer systems and applications to support all administrative offices at the University of Manitoba.This includes directing the analysis of information processig requirements and integration of these requirements into a unified system design, overseeing the development, testing, and implementation of new or enhanced systems, as well as various operations required to effectively utilize new and existing information processing systems. The Director's office also participates in the evaluation and analysis of computer equipment, along with forecasting for future resource requirements.
Other duties involve planning and monitoring the department's budget, coordination of staff training, and development of standards, policies and long range plans regarding Information Services & Technology at The University of Manitoba.
Application Support supports the University of Manitoba's business systems.
Areas of Responsibility
The various teams within Application Support are responsible for the analysis, acquisition, development, implementation and on-going support of the University of Manitoba's business systems. This includes liaison with the associated Business Units, development of inter-system integration and interfaces, and the liaison with ERP vendors and external partners.
- Consultants Team - Application experts, working with client offices to analyse, design and implement solutions to packaged systems or provide integration between applications.

The Database Technologies group is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of many of the University of Manitoba's centralized database engines, as well as the integrity and consistency of the data stored within.
Areas of Responsibility
- To ensure efficiency in their operation all databases require a database design review.
- We also operate using regular backup schedules with on- and off-site storage, preserving your data and protecting it from possible harm.

The Website Support team assists the campus community in maintaining their public presence on the web. This assistance comes in the form of creating projects in the campus' content management system (RedDot), creating custom programming to address the needs of a particular client as well as performing maintenance on the main webserver. In addition to the public content, the team is also responsible for maintaining two high profile student services, WebCT and Jump.
Areas of Responsibility
- Create RedDot projects for the university community so that they can share their information in a standardised format
- Create web applications to server the University community
- Maintain the main campus web server
- Maintain the WebCT and Jump systems
- Maintain the GUTS system
