Connecting to Aurora INB from Off-Campus

Connecting to Aurora INB from Off-Campus Using Internet Explorer or Firefox

Note:
  • You need to already have the Univeristy of Manitoba's proxy script setup before you can connect to Aurora INB from off-campus
  • If you do not have the Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) plug-in installed you will have to do that first. Click here for instructions on how to install the Sun JRE plug-in.
  • It has been known to take up to 10 minutes on some machines for the first URL in these instructions to load. If this happens you just have to be patient, it will eventually connect
  • If you are experiencing trouble connecting to Aurora INB from off-campus, please contact the Aurora Helpdesk at 272-1555 and file an issue report

    • Internet Explorer Instructions

      STEP 1: Open up your internet browser 
       
    • Enter the URL http://banner.cc.umanitoba.ca and you will be prompted with the following

     

    ********** PLEASE NOTE **********

    If you do not have the Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) plug-in installed on your work station, a security warning box will appear. Follow the Installing JRE plug-in instructions before proceeding with the remainder of these instructions.

     

    STEP 2: Login to proxy...  
  • Enter your UMNetID in the User Name box
  • Enter your Password in the Password box
  • Click OK 
     
    In some cases you may need to go through this interface more than once
  • Enter your UMNetID in the User Name box
  • Enter your Password in the Password box
  • Click Yes
  • Enter your Aurora Username in the User Name box
  • Enter your Aurora Password in the Password box
  • Click the Connect button

    • You will then be connected to Aurora

    Firefox Instructions

    STEP 1: Open up your internet browser 
     

  • Enter the URL http://banner.cc.umanitoba.ca and you will be prompted with the following
