University College Endowment Fund Award

The University College Endowment Fund, set up in 1985, is made up of monies contributed by friends, members, alumni and fellows of University College at The University of Manitoba.  From this fund, three annual scholarships of a maximum amount of $1000 each and two annual bursaries of a maximum amount of $500 each will be made available to students of University College.  The first two scholarships were awarded in 1996/97 academic year.

Scholarship recipients are to be selected from among those students who:

1.  have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours in an undergraduate program with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0;

2.  are members of University College (you must use the modify request, 6#, and select 07 as your college of choice during on-line registration);

3.  have made a significant contribution to the life of University College; and,

4.  continue in the ensuing academic year as members of University College.

Bursary recipients are to be selected from among those students who:

1.  have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours in an undergraduate program with a minimum grade point average of 2.5;

2.  are members of University College (you must use the modify request, #6, and select 07 as your college of choice during on-line registration);

3.  have made a significant contribution to the life of University College;

4.  continue in the ensuing academic year as members of University College; and,

5.  demonstrate financial need on the standard University of Manitoba bursary application.

The state of the fund supporting these awards will be reviewed annually and if either or both of (a) new contributions to or, (b) interest earnings in the fund permit, the value of the annual awards may be increased or another award may be offered.
