APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Order original transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions attended to be sent directly to The Faculty of Graduate Studies.
2. Please complete the University of Manitoba Graduate Application form, and submit appropriate fee in Canadian funds: As of December 15th, 2009, the standard application fee for all students is $100 CDN.
3. Get three reference letters from individuals who are familiar with your academic abilities and potential. The form that referees should fill out is provided on-line with the University of Manitoba Graduate Application, access the form here.
4. Include a statement of academic background giving evidence of appropriate research capability, other qualifications or awards, scholarships, abilities or authorships for the proposed course of study, a proposed thesis topic, and a statement indicating preference ordering of at least two faculty associates of the Ph.D. program you would be interested in working with. There should also be included a description of not more than 1,000 words outlining the applicant’s academic and/or professional goals.
5. Indicate whether you intend to apply for part-time status.
6. Include a recent writing sample.
7. Include a recent curriculum vitae (or resumé).
8. Include a copy of your birth certificate or passport (Required from all applicants).
