Rev. Dr. Johnston McMaster is lecturer and co-ordinator of the Education for Reconciliation programme, Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin. He participated in the development of peace education resources for the cross-border project Education for Reconciliation: Securing the Future through Active Citizenship.

He is the author of Churches on the Edge:Responding Creatively to a Changing Time(2001), and A Passion for Justice: Social Ethics in the Celtic Tradition(2008). Dr. McMaster has contributed to publications and journals on the topics of "Ethical Remembering: Commemoration in a New Context", "Living Towards the Vision: A Theoretical Praxis of Conflict Resolution", "The Role of Religion in Making Peace and Reconciliation in Northern Ireland", and "An Inter-Religious Cartography of Peace".

Dr. McMaster has lectured in Eastern Europe, Sri Lanka, South Korea, and the United States, and has been involved in the development of inter-church forums in Northern Ireland. He has also been engaged as consultant with government and non-profit community sectors in Northern Ireland, and chairs a number of initiatives as well as working collaboratively with community relations networks.

He received his Doctor of Ministry from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois, and is an ordained minister of the Methodist Church in Ireland.
