Celebration of Giving and Sharing

Faith, Family, and Light Sets Tone for Annual Open House

October 23, 2018 – Winnipeg, Manitoba The annual Celebration of Giving and Sharing is scheduled for November 20, 2018 at St. Paul’s College at the University of Manitoba. This is a time the College sets aside once a year to say thank you to supporters, donors, alumni, volunteers, students and our staff and faculty.

Beginning nearly ten years ago under the leadership of Joseph Langan, then fundraising chair of the Foundation, this event was created to recognize the philanthropic support of our community while opening the doors so all could attend and see our successes. Often a humble organization the College has a lot to be proud of. The Catholic Studies program under the guidance and care of the Jesuit Centre is now the largest of its kind in Canada. The Arthur V. Mauro Centre for Peace and Justice just a few short years ago launched Canada’s first Ph.D. in Peace and Conflict Studies amongst many other success stories including the annual Sol Kanee Lecture Series and the Winnipeg International Storytelling Festival. Our Student Association in recent times has completed two large renovation projects, and our Campus Ministry program is alive with the voices of students from all over the globe. All of these things and more occurred because of the dedication of our community.

Those who feel called may join us for Vespers in Christ the King Chapel at 5:00 pm. The doors to Hanley Hall will swing open at 5:30 pm and the festivities will begin. The Belltower Café will offer a special menu for the evening. Musician Richard Boughton will provide the entertainment and our student council will be on hand to say hello, extending a warm welcome our alumni and friends. Our delightful friend, photographer Krista Anderson, will once again attend snapping photos and warmly greeting guests.
