CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: HONOURARY DEGREES AND
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARDS
The Committee for Honorary Degrees in pleased to receive nominations for the awarding of Honorary Degrees by the Senate of St. Andrew’s College in Winnipeg.
The awards will be presented at the Convocation of St. Andrew’s College during Sobor 2010 of the UOCC on Friday, July 16, 2010.
The criteria used by the Committee in recommending names to the Senate are:

The degree of Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) is conferred honoris causa by the Senate for distinguished service to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to St. Andrew’s College, and for scholarship in the field of Theology. The recipient must be present at the awarding of the degree.

The degree of Doctor of Canon Law (D.C.L) is conferred honoris causa by the Senate on a lay person for distinguished service to St. Andrew’s College, to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and/or for achievement in scholarship, the arts, or community service to Ukrainians in Canada, and which is of major interest to St. Andrew’s College and/or the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The recipient must be present at the awarding of the degree.

The St. Andrew’s College Distinguished Service Award is awarded by the Senate for distinguished contributions to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to St. Andrew’s College, and/or to the Ukrainian Community in general, in areas which are of major interest to St. Andrew’s College, and/or which are directly associated with St. Andrew’s College. Members of the staff of St. Andrew’s College are not eligible for the award. The recipient or representative of the recipient must be present at the bestowal of the award.
