Marla Konrad has beautifully captured the special bond shared by mothers and their children in a worldwide context.
This 24 page book consists of vivid full-page and half page photographs of mothers and children from around the world. The book is a positive look at mothers as caregivers, friends, teachers and above all the person who loves you best. The accompanying text is descriptive of the photographs, but the pictures, themselves, tell the story. Pictures show moms and children feeding the pigs, bathing, weaving baskets, and sharing homework. Each picture captures the love shared by mothers and children. This book could be shared or read individually by young children. Mom and Me would be an excellent book for the Early Childhood classroom, particularly for a Mother’s Day theme. Highly Recommended. An early years teacher, Barb Taylor is presently an MLIS student at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON.
