TWO PARENTS TOO MANY
Volume 14 Number 2
Adjusting to a new, perfect mother is hard enough, but a new father who likes bird watching, wears baggy pants, and uses bicycle clips on his trousers is too much. So thought Katy and Jenny, two teenagers, who devise elaborate plans including hiding cat hair in a sofa to cause an allergic reaction in Adam, their father-to-be, over-seasoning a supper prepared in his honour, purposely getting lost in the woods to destroy his credibility as an outdoorsman, and putting a laxative herb into his tea, all to discourage the pending wedding. This hilarious, warm-hearted tale is easy-to-read, fast moving, and has definite appeal to young adults even without family problems such as this. A refreshing approach to a serious situation of the twentieth century.
