This textbook provides an introduction to the study of law at the secondary school level. It is intended for use throughout Canada and examples of cases and statutes have been taken from the full range of provincial jurisdiction.

Law contains a wide variety of topics, and this book succeeds in organizing these topics into a coherent pattern. A glance at the contents should be sufficient to direct the student to the appropriate section, while the index provides further assistance. A nine-page glossary at the end of the book provides excellent definitions of the terms and phrases peculiar to the study of law.

In addition to be well-organized, this book is written in a straightforward manner. Law is notoriously prone to circumlocution, but the text of this book avoids the wordiness common in many earlier primers. The use of red print for important words can be lauded, as can be the illustrations, which, while they have the appearance of the comic section, are very opposite. At the end of each chapter, summarizing questions, discussion points, and important cases, are placed in such a way as to provide the student with the opportunity for review.

In all, this textbook satisfies the needs of secondary school law students in an exemplary fashion and can be highly recommended for consideration as the text for appropriate classes.
