Extended Education is seeking an experienced, academically credentialed, subject matter expert to instruct the following course:

HRM 0134 ? Ethics and Social Responsibilities

This course is offered as part of the Applied Human Resource Management program, which is ideally suited for internationally educated professionals seeking a pathway towards professional success in Manitoba and beyond. The course, Ethics and Social Responsibilities, is designed to help students identify and understand current ethical issues as they pertain to business in general and the HR function in particular, including the concept of corporate social responsibility. Students will explore the drafting and implementation of employee codes of conduct, which cover safeguarding employee confidentiality, accepting gifts, protection of ?whistle-blowers? and conflicts of interest, as well as fair labour policies. Through the analysis of principles and theories of ethics as well as ethical dilemmas faced in the workplace, students will be better prepared to examine current decision-making processes and HR practices in the workplace.

The responsibilities of the position include:
? Delivering 18 hours of face-to-face classes to international students;
? Creating student assessments and exams original to each section;
? Grading assignments and exams;
? Preparing supplementary course materials.

Access to a personal computer is a requirement of this position.

There are multiple daytime and evening sections of this course; the tentative schedule is as follows:

? Section 1: 20 September ? 15 November, Wednesdays 8:30 am ? 10:30 am

? Section 2: 20 September ? 15 November, Wednesdays 11:45 am ? 1:45 am

? Section 3: 25 September ? 4 December, Mondays 3:00 pm ? 5:00 pm

? Section 4: 25 September ? 4 December, Mondays 6:15 pm ? 8:15 pm

Remuneration per section is $1,700.

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree or a suitable combination of post-secondary education, professional certification and work experience in the field of Human Resource Management. A CPHR designation would be an asset. In addition, applicants should have experience in adult learning and teaching, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be highly organized. Applicants must be committed to life-long learning and embrace a learner-centered approach to teaching. The ability to engage students in their learning environment and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion are an integral part of the position. Assets also include experience instructing at a post-secondary level, using teaching & learning technology (e.g. UMLearn), and demonstrated leadership skills.
