The Faculty of Nursing invites applications to fill a three year term, Instructor I position (#18689). Qualified candidates will possess substantive knowledge and relevant nursing experience in health and illness and clinical care.

POSITION:
The successful candidate will contribute to the academic development, delivery and evaluation of theory, laboratory and clinical nursing courses in the undergraduate program. The incumbent will integrate scholarship into clinical and classroom teaching; provide leadership on the integration of relevant concepts related to the undergraduate program; and, participate in professional and community organizations. The successful candidate will be required to offer courses on-site or through delivery by various distance education modalities.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Instructor I)
• A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
• Have a proven track record of clinical education and lab based teaching
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
• Recent clinical experience
• Scholarly capabilities
• Excellent communication and interaction skills
• Ability to foster collegial relationships

DUTIES:
• Teaching, assessment and evaluation of students in theory, laboratory and various clinical settings using best practice principles and evidence based knowledge
• Undertake appropriate administrative tasks
• Deliver and evaluate flexible-delivery course materials, including online materials
• Facilitates integration of theory and practice
• Ensures safe practice of students

Start Date: August 1, 2014 or as soon as possible. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Faculty of Nursing offers both a BN undergraduate program and graduate programs. At the graduate level, we offer a Master’s Program, which includes a Nurse Practitioner (NP) stream, administration, education and clinical practice streams, and a PhD Program in Nursing. At the present time, we have four Chairs; one CIHR, two MHRC, and a Chair endowed by the Breast Cancer Foundation of Canada. Further, we have clinical and research links with other universities nationally and internationally and with a number of research institutes in Manitoba.
