INSTRUCTOR II POSITION


The Faculty of Nursing invites applications to fill a three year term Instructor II position (#18223). Qualified candidates will possess substantive knowledge and relevant nursing experience in community health nursing.

POSITION:
The successful candidate will contribute to the academic development, delivery and evaluation of theory and clinical nursing courses in the undergraduate program. The incumbent will integrate scholarship into clinical and classroom teaching; provide leadership on the integration of relevant concepts related to the undergraduate program; and, participate in professional and community organizations. The successful candidate will be required to offer courses on-site or through delivery by various distance education modalities.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree (Nursing preferred or in a related discipline) required
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
• Have a proven track record of teaching and curriculum development activities
• Undertaking appropriate administrative tasks
• Deliver and evaluate flexible-delivery course materials, including online materials
• Teaching and assessment of students in various clinical settings using best practice principles and evidence based knowledge
• Recent clinical experience in related area preferred
• Excellent communication and interaction skills
• Ability to foster collegial relationships
• Scholarly capabilities

Start Date: August 1, 2014 or as negotiated. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Faculty of Nursing offers both a BN undergraduate program and graduate programs. At the graduate level, we offer a Master’s Program, which includes a Nurse Practitioner (NP) stream, as well as administration, education and clinical practice streams. This year we commenced the PhD Program in Nursing. At the present time, we have four Chairs; one CIHR, two MHRC, and a chair endowed by the Breast Cancer Foundation of Canada. Further, we have clinical and research links with other universities nationally and internationally and with a number of research institutes in Manitoba.
