The Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program (MPAS) in the Faculty of Health Sciences, College of Medicine / Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba is seeking to recruit a full time Physician Assistant (PA) Instructor I/II in the field of PA Education to begin July 1, 2014 or as soon thereafter as possible on a Probationary UMFA Appointment. Position 18553.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting the Program Director and Medical Director in the development, implementation, and delivery of a Master’s level PA education curriculum. Significant teaching duties will be involved. Academic and professional experience in medical education including Biomedical Sciences (Physiology, Pathophysiology) is required. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with PA educational needs as well as appropriate clinical experience.
The candidate will be expected to work directly under the direction of the MPAS Program Director and the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education. Significant collaboration with the Faculty of Graduate Studies will also be required.
The successful candidate must have a minimum Master’s level degree, preferably in Physician Assistant Studies; Advanced degree is an asset. Physician Assistant candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba Physician Assistant Register. Consideration of applicants with Master’s level degrees (or higher) in a similar professional area will be given to applicants with appropriate expertise. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
