The University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dentistry, invites applications and nominations for an Assistant Professor Tenure Track position and Course Coordinator for Early Clinical Experience, DENT 1202. The Faculty of Dentistry has invested in staff, equipment, and facilities at unprecedented levels in order to capitalize on new methods for educating students, residents, and practicing dentists.
Primary responsibilities for the incumbent will involve introducing students to the clinic and instruct them in infection control, the collection of diagnostic records and introduce them to the clinic. The incumbent will also direct, support, and evaluate the clinical and professional development of students. Further duties include developing a research program in their area of specialization and other related activities. Opportunity for one day per week private practice is available.
The successful applicant must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a graduate program by the time of hire, a Masters or PhD degree, experience in dental education, infection control practices, clinical practice and/or established a distinguished record in university teaching and research. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience and credentials. Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Manitoba. Expected date of appointment is January 1, 2013 or soon thereafter.
