Last week marked the launch of the peer reviewed open access scientific journal of Discover Phytomedicine
, and Dr. Ramprasath Vanu Ramkumar, Editor-In-Chief, is proud to see the publication of the first edition. Dr. Vanu Ramkumar is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Human Nutritional Sciences
at the University of Manitoba
and a Research Associate at RCFFN
The quarterly published journal is “dedicated to attract and disseminate novel and experiment innovations with a focus on pharmacology, toxicology and clinical studies of natural products.” The journal comprises of highly knowledgeable scientists around the globe as editors, which ensures the higher quality and integrity of the scientific content of the journal.
The journal Discovery Phytomedicine
is based on the Open Journal Systems
platform. Open Journal System is a journal management and publishing system that has been developed by the Public Knowledge Project
through its federally funded efforts to expand and improve access to research. Public Knowledge Project is a multi-university initiative developing (free) open source software and conducting research to improve the quality and reach of scholarly publishing.
Dr. Vanu Ramkumar is in charge with managing all the articles submitted to the journal and sending them off for review. “Once the articles are reviewed, I’m in charge of deciding whether to accept them and then edit and compile the publication,” said Dr. Vanu Ramkumar.
