Director Of Research
Robert Renaud is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba. He obtained his Ph.D. in Psychology with specialization in education and measurement from the University of Western Ontario in 2002. Currently, he teaches educational psychology, research methods, program evaluation, measurement and evaluation, and structural equation modeling. In addition, he has served as co-ordinator for the Teaching Assistant Training Program (at UWO) and has delivered seminars on various aspects of effective teaching and assessment. His current research interests focus mainly on performance indicators in higher education, critical thinking, and quantitative methods. These interests come together in exploring the degree to which selected processes in the university environment contribute toward students’ learning and development. For example, some of Dr. Renaud’s recent research has examined the impact of specific instructional approaches in various university courses on the development of students’ critical thinking skills. Among the reviewing and editorial activities that Dr. Renaud is continually involved with,he is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Educational Psychology and the Education/Nursing Research Ethics Board.
