Online courses offered through the Centre for Higher Education Research and Development (CHERD) are delivered using the University of Manitoba's web-based Learning Management System - ANGEL Learning. All access to courses will be through a web browser and plugins. Note: currently Internet Explorer 8 and Apple Safari is NOT a supported browser.

The courses utilize streaming video that requires a high-speed LAN, cable modem or DSL Internet connection. The use of a dialup modem connection is NOT recommended.

Here is a general list of minimum technical requirements:

• Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista, or Macintosh OS/X
• Microsoft Internet Explorer (7) or Mozilla Firefox (2 or higher)
• Java Runtime Environment 1.4 or higher
• JavaScript and AJAX enabled
• Pop-Up blocking disabled
• Other plug-ins such as Flash, Realplayer, etc. might be required, but differ from course to course

Registrants should visit the ANGEL Learning website to perform a System Check of the computer that they will be using.
