Michael Bell was a playwright/actor living in Winnipeg. CCWOC was honoured to host him for a term as the Centre's playwright-in- residence. At the time, Michael was working on a full-length play for the 2009/10 season of the University of Manitoba's Black Hole Theatre. His other plays include “Chekhov and Me” for Theatre Projects Manitoba’s “In the Chamber” series, and 10 other works for the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Michael’s comedy sketches for the Royal Liechtenstein Theatre Company have been performed at the Saskatoon and Edmonton Fringe Festivals, as well as on CBC Television. He was also a freelance contributor for the CBC radio show “Definitely Not the Opera.”
Michael’s acting credits include the Gary Yates film “High Life” (based on the play), and he appeared in the Manitoba Theatre Centre’s productions of “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “Our Town.”
