The goals of the Age-Friendly Communities - Active Aging Research Alliance are to

• Raise awareness of the importance and benefits of age-friendly communities.
• Contribute to the development of age-friendly communities by generating knowledge of the factors that contribute to it, and examining the factors and processes that help with implementation.
• Build capacity in research and community development among seniors, students, government officials, service providers and researchers to address issues around active aging and age-friendly communities.
