Since 2008, over 70 communities to date have joined the age-friendly initiative in Manitoba. This section of the Age-Friendly Communities CURA Web site outlines the different phases and processes for communities to take towards becoming an age-friendly community. The process starts with identifying key committee members, developing a local committee, holding a community consultation, selecting priorities specific for your community, and moving forward and implementing priorities.
The following information is provided for age-friendly communities and those communities who are interested in joining the initiative:

In some ways the University of Manitoba is like a small city or community: there are residents, thousands of students, thousands of staff, as well as numerous visitors for events, meetings, recreation opportunities, etc. In the coming months and years, there will be lots of construction and innovation in creating new buildings and gathering spaces at the University of Manitoba.
But how age-friendly is our campus? And will these new plans and constructions be age-friendly?
Do you believe that we have an opportunity here to change the campus community for the better? If so, then consider joining the “A”-Team! After all, who is better to “seize opportunity” than an “A”-Team!!
