Contractor Safety - Contractor Orientation
All workers working for Contractors providing construction and maintenance services at the University will be required to attend a 2 hour health and safety orientation prior to working on any projects on campus. Workers must retake the orientation annually if performing contract work for the University on a regular basis. The orientation will cover U of M general policies & procedures for construction work and site safety, followed by a fibrogenic dust awareness presentation that reviews asbestos and silica on campus.

The orientation is held at the Fort Garry campus with registration starting prior to 8:00 am. The presentation starts at 8:00 am. Anyone arriving after that time may have to make arrangements to attend the next available session.

To register for contractor orientation, please use the registration form provided below. Registration can be submitted by e-mailing the form to will not be accepted. The cut off time for registration will be at noon the day prior to the orientaiton. Registrations received after this time will not be accepted for the next day's orientation.

Only register workers you intend on attending the orientation session. Failure of workers to attend after repeated registrations will result in delay of orientation for the entire company, and potentially impact your job schedule at no cost to the University of Manitoba.
