
GENERAL
On
weekdays, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., all visiting vehicles
on the campus must be parked in public parking areas at a meter, pay &
display parking area or the University Parkade, or must display a visitor
parking pass purchased from Parking Services. Staff at the Welcome Centre
(located at 423 University Crescent) can help direct you to the most convenient
visitor parking locations. Printed maps and change for meters are
also available from the Welcome Centre.
PARKING RATES - METERS, PAY & DISPLAY LOTS,“N” LOT AND THE PARKADE
METERS - Short term parking (2 hour maximum) is available at designated multi space solar-powered pay & display meters at a cost of $1 per hour. Pay & Display meters accept coin, Visa or MasterCard. Single space electronic meters (30 minute to 2 hour maximum) will accept COIN ONLY.
PAY & DISPLAY
LOTS -
Long term parking (2 hour minimum to 8 hour maximum) is available at multi
space solar-powered pay & display meters located in the public parking pay
& display sections of "AC", K", "L",
"T" and "U" Lots. The
Richardson Centre for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals in Smartpark also
offers visitor parking in the parking public parking section of “RCFFN” Lot. Pay & Display machines
accept coin, Visa or MasterCard.
Pay & Display Long Term Parking Rates:
Between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.:
$2 for every 2 hour minimum
DAILY MAXIMUM: $8
Pay & Display parking in "SD" Lot or "SD West" Lot on Chancellor Matheson Road (west of University Stadium) is $2 for any 4-hour period, or $4 for the entire day (machines accept COIN ONLY).
Parking
in "N" Lot
is a flat rate of $4, valid evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and daily on
weekends from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Pay
& Display machines accept coin, Visa or MasterCard.
The
University Parkade
- Located north of the Helen Glass Centre for Nursing and attached to
University Centre. It has a vehicle clearance height of 6' 8"
(2.03m). Payment for parking can be made by cash, VISA or MasterCard.
Rates:
Between
the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.:
$1.50 for each half-hour for the first 1 hour
$2 each additional hour or portion thereof
DAILY MAXIMUM: $9
BANNATYNE
CAMPUS
Multi space solar-powered pay & display meters are located in "H"
Lot on McDermot Avenue by Tecumseh Street. Pay & Display machines accept
coin, Visa or MasterCard.
Rates (Weekdays):
Between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.:
$3.00 for the first hour
$2.00 for each additional hour
DAILY MAXIMUM: $9.00
AFTER 6:00 P.M: $3.50 flat rate.
COMBINED MAXIMUM (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.):
$12.50 flat rate.

TEMPORARY
VISITOR PERMITS / PARKADE VALUE CARDS / HOODED METERS
Special
visitor parking may be available in some staff or student lots or in the
University Parkade. Space permitting, short term temporary visitor
permits and parkade value cards may be purchased by departments in advance on a
FOAP and can then be issued to your guests for complimentary parking. Permits and parkade value cards may be mailed
to your guests in advance or you can arrange to have the purchased permits
available at the Welcome Centre (423 University Crescent) for pick up by your
visitors.
Temporary visitor permits are arranged through Parking Services by calling
474-9483 or at parking_services@umanitoba.ca. Rates are $5 (4
hour) and $10 (daily) plus GST.
Parkade value cards are arranged through Parking Services by calling 474-7139 or at parking_services@umanitoba.ca. Rates are as posted at time of purchase.
In special circumstances, a department may have parking meters hooded and reserved for an event at an additional cost. Please contact Parking Services for further details.
EVENING,
WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS
After 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays, free parking is
available in most staff, student, meter, and pay & display lots. This
does not include 24-hour reserved areas, restricted areas, “N” lot (evening and
weekends) and the University Parkade.
CONFERENCE
PARKING AND SPECIAL EVENT PARKING
It is best to discuss your needs with Parking Services to see what arrangements
can be made. If you are arranging an event that includes off-campus
participants, it is essential to tell them in advance of the parking
arrangements.
PARKING
RESTRICTIONS
Parking
is not permitted in the following areas at any time: 24 hour reserved zones,
loading zones, fire lanes and driveways, "no parking" areas, accessible
areas (a university accessible parking permit must be displayed on weekdays
between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and evenings after 4:30 p.m. and weekends in “N”
Lot).
