This personal information is being collected under the authority of The University of Manitoba Act.  It will be used to maintain a record of the issue and renewal of a staff parking permit.  It is protected by the Protection of Privacy provisions of The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.  If you have any questions about the collection of your personal information, contact the FIPPA Coordinator’s Office, (204) 474-8339, Elizabeth Dafoe Library, University of Manitoba, R3T 2N2.


Up to four vehicles can be associated to your staff parking permit. If you already have four vehicles associated with your permit, additional vehicles will not be linked.


Staff permits have now transitioned to virtual permits. All monthly staff permits are included in the change to virtual. All student permits and some department permits are still required to be displayed.

If you are unsure if your permit has been included in the transition to virtual permits, and you have not received any email notification that you may destroy your physical hangtag permit, please visit your parking account online using your UMNetID to log in and verify under the Permits section of your account if you have a virtual permit. Please ensure all license plates to be linked to your virtual permit are accurate and up to date. To view, add or remove a vehicle log in to your parking account online.

Parking on Bannatyne Campus is limited and therefore reciprocal parking has been affected. Reciprocal Parking Permits are limited to 4 hours and are available on a first-come-first-served basis for those attending the Bannatyne Campus for meetings.

Staff now have the option to be on more than one parking lot waitlist at a time. To add or remove your name from a waitlist, please review and complete the online

Effective April 2018, Parking Services will utilize the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) software in staff permit lots. If you are a staff permit holder, you will be included in the ALPR patrol areas. If you are currently parking with a different licence plate than what is registered with Parking Services or are unsure what licence plates are on file, please contact our office by email and include the new licence plate number(s) along with your employee ID or permit number.

If you have a rental vehicle, or a licence plate that is a temporary addition, you must also notify our office. When contacting us please provide the licence plate number, employee ID or permit number as well as an end date for when you will no longer want this temporary plate affiliated with your permit.

Vehicles displaying a parking permit that have unregistered licence plates associated are subject to enforcement.

In the rare event you cannot find parking in your assigned parking lot on the Fort Garry Campus, you may park in the next closest staff or student lot (excluding D, N, O, V, CTC and all Residence Student Parking Lots) and notify the Parking Services Office at 204-474-9483 as soon as possible.

Staff members currently paying for parking by way of Direct Withdrawal will NOT receive a new parking permit hang tag each year.
Please continue to use your current permit for the upcoming academic year as they do not expire.

During the summer months (May 01 - August 31), staff members who currently have an active staff parking permit may park in any of the following regular student parking lots:
ACE, I, Q, U and W.
