BEFORE formally submitting an admissions application you must first find an Academic Advisor. (professor) who might accept you into his/her research group REGARDLESS of the type of degree you're seeking. To do this you MUST determine a research area and find an appropriate Academic Advisor.

GRADUATE PROGRAMS

 

The BME program does NOT offer programs in

  • Pre-Master
  • Master of Engineering
  • Occasional Student Status

 

ALL PROGRAMS require the tentative acceptance of an Academic Advisor (professor) in the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering (see STEP:4) -- ALL PROGRAMS require Academic Advisor supervision.

*INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:   We accept International Students only as FULL-TIME Students.

 

 

 

PROGRAM LENGTH

  • Master of Science (M.Sc.)
    • Approximate Length of the M.Sc. Program is 2 years
    • Maximum Time Allowed in the M.Sc. program
      • Full Time Students: 4 years
      • * Part Time Students: 5 years

 

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
    • Approximate Length of the Ph.D. Program is 4 years
    • Maximum Time Allowed in the Ph.D. Program (Full Time or *Part Time) is 6 years

 

*PART-TIME STATUS --  Requires consent of the Academic Advisor, Department, AND Faculty

 

 

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

BME graduate students are required to successfully complete Core Competency courses as well as Research Courses.

Neither Tentative Approval for admissions by an academic advisor within BME nor the submission of an application and payment of processing fees guarantees admissions to the Graduate Program. All applications are reviewed by the Department and the Faculty of Graduate Studies.  Final admissions approval rests with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

All students are responsible for the content of their Admissions Application and in making sure that the instructions and procedures are followed for the proper submission of an Admissions Application which includes obtaining Tentative Acceptance from a professor in the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering in advance of the submission of an official admissions application.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:   It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that he / she holds the current and correct documents required by the IRCC to enroll as a graduate student in Canada.  Additionally, International students must conduct themselves in accordance to IRCC rules and regulations.
