President of the Commerce Students’ Association: Gabriela Rosales
Gabriela Rosales is a 4th year Asper student majoring in Marketing and International Business. Throughout her time at school she has been involved in many of the student groups and programs Asper has to offer. This includes successfully completing the Coop program, serving as 1st year representative for the Asper Students Cooperative Association (ASCA), a delegate in the 2009 Manitoba International Marketing Competition (MIMC), Promotions Co-Coordinator for the 2009/10 Commerce Students' Association (CSA), elected 2009/10 President of the University of Manitoba Marketing Association (UMMA), Director of Promotions for the 2010 MIMC, delegate in the 2010 JDC West Case Conference, and most recently elected the President of the Commerce Students' Association for the 2010-2011 school year.

The reason why Gabriela has gotten so involved in all of these student groups and programs is to enhance her education and make the best of her experience at Asper.  As President of CSA her ultimate goal is to inspire a sense of pride in Asper students. She wants to get the student body more involved in everything the school has to offer and to be proud of the school they attend.

    First Year Committee
The First Year Committee (FYC) is the perfect place for new Asper students to get involved. The First Year Committee consistes of 2 First Year Representatives who are elected in September and are members of the Commerce Students’ Associations. The First Year Representatives are responsible for selecting and overseeing the chair positions (Fundraising, Charity, Social, Finance) as well as the general committee.

The First Year Committee puts on a social (usually the theme is Get Lei’d), fundraising events (eg. bake sales, pizza sales etc.) and finally charity events (such as Dinner & A Moose game and a Bison Buddy Bash sports night both for a local children’s charity). These events are always a lot of fun to both plan and attend.

The First Year Committee is a great place to meet new people and get involved in your new faculty! Make sure you check out the First Year Committee booth on Buddy Day for more information. If you have any questions please contact Jill Stevens at jillcstevens@gmail.com
