Soil & Manure Management Field Workshop - July 23, 2010
With MAFRI as the lead, MAFRI, NCLE, Richardson International and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada joined forces to deliver this interactive 8 station in-the-field learning session on a variety of soil and manure management topics. With 78 participants, the first offering of this workshop was well attended. Building on this success, look for more opportunities for knowledge exchange from this group in the future. Many thanks to everyone involved!
Topics included: Long-term manure application and nutrient availability; GHG emissions from agricultural land and manure; Making and using composted manure; Managing excess moisture – tile drainage and other practices; Fertilizing with manure – opportunities and challenges; Manure analysis – testing manure in the lab and the field; Extending grazing management.
