Workplace Health and Safety

Food Science department provides training for new students and staff when they start working in the laboratories or in the Pilot Plant. Basic lab safety is included following guidelines provided by the Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHSO), University of Manitoba. All staff and students that will be working in the Level Two Biohazard Labs are required to attend a training session conducted by the EHSO office, this can be arranged with the WHMIS coordinator for the Department.
