The Faculty of Pharmacy is committed to providing outstanding pharmaceutical training, improving health and pharmaceutical care and attracting leading minds to Manitoba. Business management is an increasingly important aspect of pharmaceutical practice, which the faculty must incorporate more significantly into its curriculum and research program.
To meet this need, the faculty will establish a Professorship in Pharmacy Business Management. This endowed professorship will lead a research program on this theme, coordinate courses focussed on leadership and pharmacy business practices and support a graduate program associated with pharmacy management.
Today’s pharmacy students must be prepared to manage a 21st Century business. In addition to their mastery of scientific and interpersonal skills, pharmacy professionals must now be able to write business plans, understand partnership buyouts, manage employee stock ownership and use medication management software. All this happens in the fast-evolving digital world.
An endowed Professorship in Pharmacy Business Management will provide permanent funding that will enable the faculty to fund this position in perpetuity. This will allow the faculty to recruit a visionary leader who will help make Manitoba a trailblazer in pharmacy business management training.
Your support will ensure that Manitoba’s pharmacy students are well prepared for the realities of the pharmacy profession upon graduation. You will also help the faculty to become nationally known for excellence in this emerging area of pharmaceutical study.
