Danielle Dunbar, Director, Faculties, Schools and Departments Philanthropy474-8455
Danielle Dunbar has been with the University of Manitoba since January 2005. She has recently taken on the role of Acting Director of Development and Alumni Affairs for External Relations on Bannatyne Campus. Danielle has over ten years experience in fund development, five of which have been with the University of Manitoba. She has a BRS from the University of Manitoba and has had her CFRE designation since 2006. She has a proven track record in major gift solicitation and has successfully managed fundraising projects and campaigns in conjunction with high profile volunteers and deans of academic units. Danielle will provide leadership to the External Relations on Bannatyne staff and will work with the Deans of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy in fulfilling their fundraising objectives.
Kyla Denisuik, Development Officer

Kyla Denisuik brings a strong record of fundraising and project management success to her role as Development Officer. She has held a variety of positions including as the Assistant Sport Manager for Curling and Wheelchair Curling for the 2010 Olympic Paralympic Winter Games, Event Coordinator/Media Relations Director for Curl Manitoba, Fund Development Manager for the Canadian Liver Foundation, and Special Events Coordinator for the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities and the MS Society of Canada. Her experience has made her excellent at building relationships with donors, corporate partners and volunteers as well as developing strong budgeting and project management skills. Kyla holds a Bachelor of Recreation Studies from the University of Manitoba.
Blair Nicholls, Development Officer

Blair Nicholls designs and develops effective solicitation strategies for volunteers, graduates and faculty. He manages prospect relationships to enhance continued and increased support to the faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy through Class, Capital or Faculty Campaigns. Blair began at the University in March, 2008 after 22 years working at a community hospital in a variety of positions. Blair holds a CFRE designation and a Business and Administrative Studies diploma from Red River College. He is the current Secretary/Treasurer of the Manitoba Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Lisa Thomson Stifora, Stewardship & Communications Officer

Lisa Thomson Stifora oversees stewardship and donor recognition on the Bannatyne Campus and provides communications support to the External Relations team, as well as the faculties of Pharmacy and Medicine. She participates in the planning of major faculty and campus events. Lisa holds a B.A. in Communications and English from the University of Winnipeg as well as Creative Communications diploma from Red River College.
Rossana Tillberg, Development Assistant

Rossana Tillberg joined the External Relations team on Bannatyne Campus in 2005. Rossana is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the office. She assists the Director of Development and provides support to Development and Stewardship Officers.
Darcy Routledge, Alumni & Advancement Events Officer, Faculty of Medicine

Darcy Routledge is responsible for the coordination and promotion of Faculty of Medicine Class Reunions by providing event-planning advice to each of the Reunion organizing committees. She is also responsible for the planning and coordination of Medicine Alumni Receptions and the Faculty of Medicine Homecoming Breakfast. Darcy brings more than 10 years experience in special event planning to this position with such events as the 1999 Pan Am Games, Manitoba Games and several non-profit events.
Ilana Simon, Director of Communications & Marketing, Faculty of Medicine

As Director of Communications and Marketing for the Faculty of Medicine, Ilana is responsible for developing and implementing all internal and external communications and marketing strategies for the Faculty of Medicine, and overseeing development and enhancements to the Faculty of Medicine web site. Ilana serves as editor for Manitoba Medicine as well as the Faculty of Medicine Annual Report. Ilana is responsible for media relations as well as the communications and marketing material for major faculty events on Bannatyne Campus. Ilana also directs alumni relations within the Faculty of Medicine. Ilana joined the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine in January 2008 after 20 years experience in journalism, editing, communications, marketing and media relations. Ilana wrote for the Winnipeg Free Press for 12 years, is a best-selling cookbook authors and spent four years as senior communications officer/media relations specialist at the University of Winnipeg. She holds a BA in Political Science and English from the U of W.
