COMM LIFE-010 (University or Faculty Events)
This series consists of records documenting the community life and events of the University of Manitoba. Records can be divided into the following sub-sets:
COMM LIFE-011: Records in all media documenting and promoting University events, departments and research. Includes posters, final itineraries or agendas, advertising and promotional items for the event, biographies or CVs of external speakers, content planning for major events.
Retention for COMM LIFE-011: End of Current Year + 6 Years: Transfer to Archives for selection
Example: Your unit organizes an event for the University community, which takes place in March 2013. You will be eligible to transfer the records six (6) years after 2013 ends, which is January 1, 2020.
COMM LIFE-012: Logistical information behind event planning. Can include budgets, catering and travel information, room bookings and confirmations.
Retention for COMM LIFE-012: End of Current Year + 2 Years: Destroy
Example: Using the example from COMM LIFE-011, all logistical records involved in the planning of the March 2013 event can be destroyed two (2) years after 2013 ends, which is January 1, 2016.
COMM LIFE-013: Yearbooks and other memorabilia from Faculties, Colleges and Schools.
Retention for COMM LIFE-013: Transfer 1 copy to Archives upon completion
Example: A yearbook or other momento is created in your unit. Once it has been completed, transfer 1 copy to Archives.
