The Department of Accounting and Finance invites applications for the position of Head of the Department. Position No: ABJ 283. As this is an internal search, applicants must currently hold a continuing appointment in the Asper School of Business.

The Department of Accounting & Finance has a complement of 13 full-time academic staff, 6 full-time lecturers, as well as part-time lecturers, and support staff. The Department offers undergraduate majors in Finance, Accounting, and Management Information Systems. Faculty members also teach in the graduate programs program.

The head is responsible for managing all aspects of the Department. Job activities include, but are not limited to making budgetary decisions, developing teaching schedules, developing and evaluating programs, chairing departmental council meetings, and facilitating recruiting of faculty members. The head provides leadership of the Department through collaboration and consultation with department members. The head is also expected to ensure the mentoring and development of faculty members, and to conduct performance appraisals. The head should have strong interpersonal and managerial capabilities. Demonstrated competence in research and teaching is required. A Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to the field of management is essential.
