CHARACTER OF THE JOB
These positions independently deliver projects that are technically complex or have significant supervisory responsibilities.
Extensive diagnostics and trouble shooting are performed by individual contributor positions and they may be involved in design. They exercise considerable judgment in diagnosing and testing a wide variety of complex computer and network equipment. Typically, these positions provide technical guidance.
Supervisory positions supervise a number of staff who performs routine to moderately complex technical work. These positions develop the standard operating procedures and standards within which their staff works.
A Bachelors degree (Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, etc.) or Community College diploma/certificate (minimum two year program in Network or Computer Technology) plus five years of directly related experience, of which three years were in an Ethernet network environment.
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
