The University of Manitoba will be participating in the 30th annual Pride Winnipeg Parade on Sunday, June 4, 2017. We are looking for faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends and family members (including children and pets) to walk with us and help us celebrate. Members of the LGBTTQI* community and allies are welcome to participate!

Registrants will:
•    Walk in the parade for free – including U of M groups, associations and societies
•    Receive a t-shirt (first come, first served for the first 250 volunteers)
•    Be provided with swag to pass out during the parade
•    Meet other members of the U of M community

Drag Show
Friday, May 19

U of M’s Pride events will kick off with a drag show, featuring entertainers from the Like That program at Sunshine House. This venue is wheelchair accessible and has gneder inclusive washrooms. Come join us to get the Pride party started!

This exhibit, part three of The Legacy of Alexander Kennedy Isbister series of displays celebrating U of M’s 140th anniversary, looks back at the history of activism and the contribution of LGBTTQI* students and allies to U of M’s history. This venue is wheelchair accessible via the Elizabeth Dafoe Library street level entrance at 25 Chancellors Circle.

The official flag-raising ceremony will include remarks by members of the U of M LGBTTQI* community. A Pride flag will also be raised on Fort Garry campus and both flags will fly for the duration of Pride. This venue is wheelchair accessible and ASL services will be provided.

U of M Outlaws and MBA SOGIC Wine and Cheese Reception
Wednesday, May 31

Pitblado Law, 25th floor, 360 Main Street

This reception will celebrate the achievements and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender lawyers and activists in promoting equality and human rights. This venue is accessible.

Zumba Dance Party for All

All bodies and genders will be celebrated at the Zumba dance parties. Zumba fitness is a Latin-inspired cardio-dance workout that uses music and choreographed steps to form a fitness party atmosphere. No experience necessary! These venues are wheelchair accessible and gender inclusive spaces to change are available. Please notify the front desk when you arrive.

All University of Manitoba staff, faculty and students are invited to walk in the Pride parade under the U of M banner. Members of the LGBTTQI* community and allies are welcome and encouraged to participate! U of M will have a booth set up at the Festival at the Forks with an interactive display and photo booth. Come out and get your free U of M Pride giveaway materials, including t-shirts, buttons, paper flags, Frisbees  and sunglasses.
