24.1 Salary Schedules
[For information only: The schedule for 1998-99 was derived by increasing each of the floors, increments, thresholds and maxima in the schedule for 1997-98 by 1%. The schedules for 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 were similarly derived, increasing each of the values in the previous years schedule by 1% and 2%, respectively.]

34 Salary floors shall become operative after all salary increases in accord with section 24.2, 24.3 and 24.4, as appropriate, have been made. Salary floors shall apply to promotions at the effective dates of promotion.24.2
Effective April 1 in each of 1995 and 1996, each Member whose base salary rate as of March 31 of the same year is less than the Threshold for his/her rank (Column(3) of the Salary Schedule effective April 1 of the same year) and whose performance during the preceding contract year has been satisfactory shall receive one increment, as applicable, to his/her base salary rate (Column 2) in the Salary Schedule effective April 1 of the same year).
24.2 Effective April 1, 1998, each Member as of March 31, 1998 shall receive an increase to his/her base salary rate of $740.00.
24.3 Effective April 1, 1999, each Member as of March 31, 1999 shall receive an increase to his/her base salary rate of one (1) percent.
24.4 Effective April 1, 2000, each Member as of March 31, 2000 shall receive an increase to his/her base salary rate of two (2) percent.
24.5 Effective April 1, 1998, 1999 and 2000:
(a) Each Member whose base salary rate as of March 31 of the same year is less than the Threshold for his/her rank (Column (3) of the Salary Schedule effective April 1 of the same year) and whose performance during the preceding contract year has been satisfactory shall receive one increment, as applicable, to his/her base salary rate (Column (2) in the Salary Schedule effective April 1 of the same year); and
(b) Each Member whose base salary rate as of March 31 of the same year is greater than or equal to the Threshold but less than the Maximum (Columns (3) and (5), respectively, in the Salary Schedule effective April 1 of the same year) for his/her rank and whose performance during the preceding contract year has been satisfactory shall receive one increment, as applicable, to his/her base salary rate (Column (4) in the Salary Schedule effective April 1 of the same year.)

46 Where the performance of a Member in the preceding contract year is found not to be satisfactory, either one-half or all of the increment applicable to his/her rank may be withheld. Such a Member shall be informed, in writing, by his/her dean/director of the amount to be withheld and the reasons for withholding half or all of the increment. Within two (2) weeks of the notice to the Member, the Director of Staff Relations shall forward the name of the Member to the Association.24.5
Members shall take days off without pay in each year of the agreement as follows:1996-97

Members shall schedule their days off without pay at their own discretion, provided that the days scheduled do not interfere with teaching duties.24.
67 No Member shall receive an increase to her/his base salary rate except as provided for in this article.

67.1 In exceptional circumstances, the University may provide an increase to a Members base salary.24.
67.2 Within 30 days of deciding to provide an increase to a Member, the University shall provide to the Association in writing the name of the Member who shall receive an increase, the amount of the increase and the reasons for the increase.24.
67.3 The sum total of all such increases shall not exceed$50,000$150,000.00 in any contract year.24.8 A joint committee shall be established to investigate alternative salary structures for UMFA Members. This committee shall be composed of two (2) persons appointed by the University and two (2) Members appointed by the Association. The non-voting chairperson shall be chosen by, but not from, the committee members appointed by the University and the Association. This committee shall complete its work and make recommendations to the University and the Association by March 31, 2000.
