Policy Self-Assessment (PSA)

The University of Manitoba Audit Services department has adopted internal control concepts defined by the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO). 

COSO suggests that operating management perform a self-evaluation of their controls.  Accordingly, our web page is designed to assist you in evaluating the adequacy of internal controls in your department as they relate to University defined Policy and Procedures.

A Control Self-Assessment is a positive and constructive approach to establishing a positive control environment in your department.  Audit Services regularly reviews University policy and identifies those that relate to most Units.  These policies are included in question format in the attached PSA Form.
